How transforming residential homes helped us support 50+ landlords in the supported housing space

It was 2015, after a slow market recovery we started to see more social impact investment leading to more partnerships between landlords and supported living providers. David Cameron and George Osborne’s drive to reduce the deficit led to a leaner public sector. By 2015, care providers sought stable, long-term housing arrangements—and landlords increasingly welcomed these partnerships for the guaranteed rent and positive social impact they offered.

Around this time, Square Development Group had been acquiring and management properties for themselves and other landlords and had to deal with all the typical stress no one can avoid in property. Tenants that don't pay rent, evictions, trashed properties - when the team couldn't afford properties they turned to leasing them. As painful as these experiences were, it shaped them to develop a knack for acquiring the right properties depending on the occupant profile.

The government, local councils and housing associations are under increasing pressure to provide more homes to meet the current housing crises for the most vulnerable of society. We work with social housing associations, the NHS and care homes to provide government-backed rental arrangements which give consistent rental income to landlords - many of these landlords were having a constant financial drain from the management of their property.

Our vision is to develop more flats to create high quality retirement homes.

Since 2024, been working ever the NHS even more and charities supplying accommodation for care workers, ex veterans, homeless people, asylum seekers and those fleeing from domestic violence.
